Type: Non-Exempt
Work Schedule: Full-Time, Day Shift (6:00 am – 2:30 pm)
Compensation: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Tessera is seeking a new Softline Operator I to join our Manufacturing team in Auburn, Washington. The Softline Operator I performs simple production assembly operations on structural and mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and aircraft systems, equipment and accessories using manual operations. They are responsible for following drawings and detailed work instructions to assemble high-quality aerospace components.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
- Performs assembly on simple production aerospace parts, including attaching parts together by drilling riveting, and/or bonding according to customer specifications.
- Responsible for following drawings and work instructions to assemble high-quality aerospace components.
- Verifies work to ensure quality defects are mitigated. Reports defects to Shop Lead and Quality Assurance prior to final inspection.
- Promotes “clean as you go” tool control program and FOD awareness.
- Utilizes a variety of mechanical measuring equipment such as: dial indicators, calipers and indicating micrometers to obtain proper assembly-build requirements.
- Maintains dimensional accuracy on assemblies utilizing torque wrenches, fixtures, tooling, gages and other measuring devices. Required to work from assembly instructions, both written and oral.
- Provide input in team activities that encompass programming, quality and manufacturing producibility.
- Support AS9100 audits and ensure compliance to established standards.
- May be exposed to loud noises, confined spaces, dust or fumes.
- Work from and follow process specifications, work orders, blueprints, schedules, schematics, layout & modification sheets, engineering orders and verbal/written instruction.
- Employee will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on the plant floor.
- Maintain professionalism in both appearance and demeanor.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED is required, Trade School Certificate is preferred.
- 6+ months of previous Aerospace or Commercial Manufacturing is required.
- Combination of previous experience and education will be considered.
- Fundamental understanding of shop routers, Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts, and product acceptance criteria through operator verification is preferred.
- Familiarity with aircraft nomenclature and configuration is preferred.
- Familiarity with ISO
9001:2015/AS9100D is a plus. - Ability to read blueprints and other visual specification layouts.
