Position: Compactor/Baler Technician with hydraulic experience

Blankenship Equipment Repair is a compacting and recycling business serving the Pacific Northwest and Canada. We are growing and have an opening for compactor/baler technician.

We are looking for someone with strong mechanical abilities and who can learn at a moderate pace. Listed below are the desired skills/experience. Candidates do not need to posses all skills but should have experience in a few, we will teach the rest.

Desired skills/experience:
  • Hydraulic
    - Basic Knowledge
    • Hydraulic hoses and fittings
    • Solenoid valves
  • Electrical – Basic Knowledge
    • Diagrams
    • Switches
    • Relays
    • Electric Motors
    • Multimeters and Testing
  • Mechanical aptitude –Strong
    • Breakdown and Assembly
    • Proper use of hand tools
  • Welding/Cutting/Fabrication
    -Confident
    • SMAW – Stick welding- various.
    • GMAW – Mig welding
    • Oxy/Acetylene heating and cutting.
    • Plasma Cutting.
    • Grinding.
    • Practical fabrication and measuring.

Work Hours:

Mon – Fri – 7:30 – 4p

Required Qualifications:
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must pass background check
Pay Range:

$28 - $32 p/hr DOE

  • 40-Hours Vacation after 6-months. 80-Hours after one full year with incremental annual increases up to 4-weeks.
  • Health Insurance:
    Available after sixty days of employment. Company pays 75% of employee premium and 55% of dependents. Employees have the option of a Health Savings Account (HSA) program or a traditional Health Insurance program.
  • Company Matching Retirement Program:
    Access to BER Personal Financial Planner. SIMPLE IRA with company match of up to 3% of annual salary. Available after one year of employment.
