Position SummaryWe are currently seeking multiple Quality Inspectors to perform inspection functions on detail parts. Our Quality Inspectors inspect products and/or documents at various stages of production, to validate processes and provide documentation required to show compliance to the Sonaca North America Quality System, while under close supervision. Also, read and interpret customer instructions, blueprints, charts and other statistical information; prepare parts and documentation for outside criteria;
and participate in work center and other problem‑solving teams as requested.
Pay Range: $22 - $28 per hour (DOE)
EssentialJob Responsibilities
- Assist production personnel in establishing and documenting inspection criteria, prepare parts and documentation to meet outside criteria, complete all required inspection documentation and communicate as needed with customers.
- Enter data into the Work Order Tracking System, including notes and recording data on the work order.
- Document nonconforming material per the Quality System Requirements.
- Assist in identifying parts deficiencies and help prevent further recurrences.
- Determine whether the product is acceptable or unacceptable according to work order and customer requirements.
- Handle “stop the job” authority at any stage of the process responsibly.
- Perform sampling inspection.
- Maintain good housekeeping in the inspection areas.
- Handle customer‑supplied product with care.
- Use calibrated measuring equipment properly.
- Verify the job, matching the actual parts with the work order, part number(s), printed and/or electronic pictures and part count.
- Maintain Sonaca North America’s quality standards to meet and exceed customer expectations.
- Access all applicable prime customer specification requirements on the SharePoint site.
- Manage time effectively so that production, quality and delivery schedules are met.
- Interact professionally with co‑workers and vendors, understand internal customers, and strive to maintain good relations with others.
- Follow all safety requirements and enforce compliance.
- Work overtime when required (including weekends) on short notice.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Inspection Lead.
- Respond quickly to inquiries and follow up as needed.
- Embrace change to ensure overall success of the company.
- High school diploma or equivalency preferred. Candidates without a high school diploma or equivalency must take a pre‑employment assessment to be considered for the role.
- Ability to read and comprehend American English.
- Ability to read, interpret, and understand customer drawings, mils, and sketches as applicable to work being performed at Sonaca North America.
- Develop good working knowledge of all internal procedures and customer requirements.
- Develop good working knowledge of the processes performed in the chemical processing area.
- Excellent communication skills when dealing with inspection personnel, on‑floor operators, and customer service representatives.
- Flexible, self‑driven.
- Proficiency in using the Sonaca North America Work Order Tracking Program and the Quality System on the SharePoint site.
- Professionalism when dealing with subordinates and superiors.
