MDS Coordinator is responsible for the timely completion and accuracy of all resident MDS’s according to the OBRA and Medicare regulations. The MDS Coordinator works closely with nurses, medical records, and Medicare biller to assure accuracy of care services and reimbursement for patient, resident, or client.
This position requires participation in an on-call rotation with the nurse management team, which may include weekend coverage. Candidates must be available for on-call responsibilities approximately one weekend per month, as needed.
What you will do- Complete all MDS’s relating to the residents on assigned units to meet State and Federal mandated MDS regulations.
- Update Care Plan and Nursing Care Directives to assure accuracy and continuity of care.
- Enter all MDS’s into the LTCS computer program.
- Perform assessments on LTCS that are triggered on the MDS.
- Complete all CAA's according to State and Federal regulations.
- Communicate with Staff Development when situations of new infections and skin breakdowns occur.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State
- CPR certification within 30 days of hire
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Effective verbal, written and electronic communications skills in English
- Advanced computer skills. Must be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Prior work in a Skilled Nursing Facility
- 2+ years of specific MDS work preferred
$45.06 to $68.32 per hour
