Their success has been driven by a strong customer‑focused approach and their ability to provide flexible, diverse service offerings.
They’re looking for a Controller to oversee all accounting, tax, financial reporting, treasury, credit, compliance, and audit functions across a multi‑business‑unit fuel distribution and retail organization. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial management, maintaining multistate regulatory and fuel‑tax compliance, enhancing financial systems and processes, and leading the accounting team within a high‑volume, complex operating environment.

What You’ll Do:- Manage general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, billing, and inventory accounting
- Lead month‑end and quarter‑end close
- Prepare GAAP financial statements
- Oversee fuel and product inventory accounting
- Improve accounting processes and internal controls
- Monitor cash flow, banking activity, and debt
- Manage Banking Relationships and financing
- Oversee EFT/ACH dealer payments
- Handle multistate B&O, fuel, payroll, and excise tax filings
- Ensure accurate and timely federal and state tax payments
- Review customer credit applications
- Maintain credit policies and monitor credit risk
- Manage CPA annual review and 1120S preparation
- Oversee lender and insurance audits
- Resolve accounting, billing, and regulatory compliance issues
- Support financial due diligence for acquisitions
- Supervise and develop accounting team members
- Lead onboarding and training
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (preferred)
- 5+ years of corporate accounting leadership
- Strong knowledge of general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, billing, and inventory accounting
- Experience managing month‑end/quarter‑end close and preparing GAAP financial statements
- Multistate tax compliance experience (B&O, fuel, payroll, excise)
- Experience with cash flow management, banking relationships, and financing
- Ability to manage credit policies, approvals, and collections
- Experience leading external, lender, and insurance audits
- Ability to improve financial systems, processes, and controls
- Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills
- Highly organized and effective in a high‑volume environment
