This position is an adjunct position beginning in September 2025 for Fall Quarter and potentially beyond.
ABOUT THE COLLEGE:
Green River College's student body is made up of approximately 41% Academic Transfer students, 34% Professional-Technical students, 15% Adult Basic Education student, and 3% Applied Bachelor degrees. Green River College has four campuses, including the main campus in Auburn, Washington, with satellite campuses in Kent, downtown Auburn, and Enumclaw. Green River programs serve high school graduates, Running Start students (dual enrollment in local high schools and the college), those seeking retraining for the workforce, international students, students learning English, and Continuing Education students.
Green River's service areas are increasingly ethnically diverse, comprising African Americans, African immigrants, Asian Americans, Asians, Latinx, Native Americans, Pacific Islanders, and Middle Eastern Americans, among other communities.

Essential Responsibilities:
Teaching first year Spanish courses.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Master's degree in Spanish.
* One-year of college-level teaching experience in which the candidate was the primary instructor of record for at least one course per quarter or semester.
* Demonstrated experience, expertise, cultural competencies, and commitment to equity in working with students, communities, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds and identities.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Additional teaching experience at the college freshman and sophomore level beyond the minimum qualifications.
* Use and development of active-learning materials for instruction.
* Understanding and implementation of outcomes assessment.
* Demonstrated ability to work with and interact effectively with colleagues, staff, students, and administrators.
* Demonstrated involvement in professional activities in promoting Spanish and the Hispanic culture on campus and in the community
* Excellent writing and speaking skills.
