Finally, the Coordinator collects, prepares, and reports data needed to maintain or enhance students' eligibility for funding. The coordinator works with state and community partners including SBCTC, Employment Security, Washington State Department of Social and Health Services, community-based organizations and employers. An essential requirement of this position is the ability to communicate well with students with limited English proficiency and an appreciation of the value of diversity in the workforce.
The position will work collaboratively with staff from the Transitional Studies & Wellness (TSW) Division, faculty from various Professional/Technical programs, the Master Achiever Center, Career & Advising, Financial Aid and other campus departments. This position reports to the Director of Workforce Education.
ABOUT THE COLLEGE:
Green River College has four campuses, including the main campus in Auburn, with satellite campuses in Kent, downtown Auburn, and Enumclaw. Green River programs serve high school graduates, Running Start students (dual enrollment in local high schools and the college), those seeking retraining for the workforce, international students, learning English as a second language, and Continuing
Education students. Green River's service areas are increasingly ethnically diverse, comprising African Americans, African immigrants, Asian Americans, Asians, Latinos/as, Native Americans, Pacific Islanders, and Middle Eastern Americans, among other communities.

Community and Campus Outreach
* Provide excellent customer service to potential students, current students, campus partners, and community partners.
* Coordinate outreach strategies with campus and community partnerships.
* Conduct adequate messaging to partners for appropriate flow of student referrals.
* Collaborate with other campus departments to organize events and disseminate information about programs.
* Participate and facilitate in outreach strategies (workshops, information sessions and individual student appointments) to attract and serve eligible students.
* Build authentic relationships with students through individual meetings, ongoing communication, and occasional small group workshops.
* Proactively identify and communicate emerging issues at partner sites to Workforce Education team.
* Support Workforce partners by attending regular meetings and functions including Local Planning Area (LPA) meetings and Basic Food Employment and Training (BFET) meetings.
* Maintain detailed and accurate records.
Student Engagement
* Demonstrate multicultural competence (including an awareness and understanding of historically minorities' populations) and maintain an educational and work environment that affirms commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
* Regularly meet with students and help them navigate through challenges and barriers that prevent student success. This includes developing strategies to enhance student success and meet academic goals.
* Provide culturally responsive guidance to new/prospective, current and returning students by providing them with information regarding Workforce Education eligibility, admission process, registration procedures, financial aid, academic and professional/technical programs within the respective embedded areas within the college.
* Consult with fellow staff and outside entities to identify problems, explore solutions and alternatives, and recommend resolutions specific to student circumstances and needs.
* Guide students through the process of applying for funding, submitting required documentation, and complying with guidelines.
* Listen actively, assess needs, and link students to appropriate resources to remove barriers to success.
