We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join our team in Pacific, Washington. This role is ideal for a financial expert who excels in leadership, process improvement, and delivering accurate financial reporting. Base pay range: $/yr – $/yr
Responsibilities- Lead and support the accounting team, including managing three direct reports and overseeing a broader team of 6–8 staff members.
- Guide the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
- Produce, review, and distribute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor financial statement accounts and ensure accurate posting of entries across departments.
- Review and maintain schedules for assigned balance sheet accounts to ensure proper reconciliation.
- Provide accounting expertise to other departments by researching and interpreting financial data.
- Collaborate with the executive team to identify and implement improvements in accounting and operational processes.
- Assist with the preparation of general ledger entries and maintain appropriate documentation.
- Work with external auditors to complete annual financial and tax reviews.
- Participate in internal audits, providing valuable insights and ensuring compliance with financial standards.
- The salary range for this position is $105k to $115k. Benefits available with this position include medical, dental and vision; life and disability insurances; participation in the company’s 401(k) plan with a strong match and 15 days of paid vacation, 5 days of paid sick leave and 9 paid holidays per calendar year.
- Proven experience in month‑end close processes and general ledger management.
- Accounting/Business Degree, or applicable study and experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) systems.
- Ability to produce and analyze financial statements, including audits and reporting.
- Proficiency in bank account reconciliation and related processes.
- Familiarity with accounting systems; experience in industry‑specific software is a plus.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor a team effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with a keen understanding of debits and credits.
- Audit experience is highly preferred, though public accounting experience is not required.
