Description:

The Step-Down RN will provide care for patients in a critical care stepdown unit.
The patient population includes adults and geriatrics with diagnoses such as congestive heart failure, post-heart catheterization, and respiratory failure.
The nurse will monitor cardiac rhythms and perform frequent vital sign and neurovascular checks.
Expectations include post-cardiac procedure care and managing patients on BiPAP and CPAP.
The nurse will administer and monitor medications, including titration of cardiac drips and blood products.
Professional skills in infection prevention and isolation precautions are required.
Maintain proficiency in phlebotomy, starting and managing IVs, and patient assessment.
Collaboration with interdisciplinary support services such as physical therapy and respiratory services is essential.
The RN will also be responsible for efficient documentation within the electronic medical record system.
