Installation Technician, Field/Service Technician
Connectivity Point is currently seeking a fulltime AV Technician
. The AV Technician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and supporting commercial audiovisual and control systems. This role completes all phases of AV installations and provides exceptional customer support during onsite visits. The technician diagnoses technical issues, escalates when appropriate, and determines effective solutions to ensure systems operate as designed.
This position requires advanced technical knowledge of audiovisual systems, including networking, audio, video, control hardware, and associated software. Work is primarily performed at customer facilities and requires professionalism, attention to detail, punctuality, and strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities- Install a wide range of audiovisual systems using prints, one-line drawings, and written scopes of work
- Perform equipment rack builds, cable management, and field termination of multiple cable types
- Demonstrate strong working knowledge of control systems, video conferencing platforms, and audio equalization
- Use applicable testing tools and equipment to troubleshoot system issues
- Perform preventative maintenance and minor equipment repairs
- Read and interpret project documentation, drawings, and scopes provided by management
- Provide on-site technical support and ensure quality control throughout installation phases
- Deliver customer instruction during system turnover and final commissioning
- Minimum 5+ years of experience installing and supporting audiovisual systems from multiple manufacturers
- Strong experience reading and working from CAD drawings and blueprints for equipment and wiring installation
- Proven ability to wire, label, and maintain clean, organized equipment racks and wiring schemes
- Hands‑on experience pulling low‑voltage cabling, terminating and testing connections, and installing:
- Displays and TVs
- Projectors and projection screens
- Speakers and audio components
- Racks, network equipment, control systems, and cameras
- Ability to troubleshoot system failures, isolate component issues, and perform quality control checks on completed installations
- Experience working in both finished environments and active construction sites
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Proficient with PC and Mac systems
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Teams, and Project preferred
- Familiarity with D‑Tools, Sage, and Procore strongly preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable providing client instruction and system walkthroughs
- Ability to manage and coordinate other employees or subcontractors as needed
- Experience working within project schedules for both large and small construction projects
