Installation Technician, Security Systems Installation
Connectivity Point Design and Installation has an immediate opening for a full-time Alarm Technician to support our commercial security operations throughout Maine. This role assists with the installation, testing, and support of electronic security systems, including intrusion alarms, CCTV, and access control. Based on skills and experience, the technician may also assist with customer training and system demonstrations.
This position requires a Limited Low Energy license
or the ability to obtain one and involves regular travel within the state of Maine.
- Assist with the installation of new commercial intrusion alarm, CCTV, and card access systems
- Support system upgrades, expansions, and modifications
- Assist with system testing, commissioning, and signal verification
- Provide customer instruction on system operation and functionality, as appropriate
- Interpret and follow blueprints, drawings, notes, and installation specifications
- Operate hand tools and power tools; climb ladders; and use scissor lifts as required
- Attend classroom and field training as assigned
- Safely operate a company vehicle in compliance with company vehicle policies
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures and report accidents, hazards, or equipment issues
- Participate in team meetings and company-wide communications
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in alarm, access control, and/or CCTV installation, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Basic experience with commercial security systems preferred, including:
- Intrusion alarm systems
- IP video surveillance systems
- Access control systems
- Experience with structured communications cabling strongly preferred
- Basic understanding of building codes, electrical codes, and industry installation standards
- Ability to read and follow technical documentation and construction drawings
- Familiarity with construction environments and adherence to project schedules
- Strong hands-on mechanical and technical aptitude
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take direction
- Strong time management, organization, and attention to detail
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Customer-focused mindset with strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform basic math functions
- Sound judgment and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check
- Ability to meet physical job demands, including lifting, climbing, and extended periods on job sites
