Crane Aerospace and Electronics has an exciting opportunity for a CNC Machinist
- Lathe 2nd Shift at our Auburn, CA/Vian Enterprises location.
Hours are Monday-Friday 4:00pm-1:30am.
We are open to paying a sign‑on bonus up to 5k to relocate someone outside of the Bay area and $1000 sign‑on bonus for new hires.

The CNC Machinist produces machined parts by operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine, maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records and maintaining equipment and supplies.
Essential Functions- Understand work orders, blueprints, manufacturing orders, and machining parameters
- Validate material used
- Maintain specifications;
Troubleshoot, detect malfunctions and take appropriate actions;
Know when to replace worn tools - Listen to machining operation in order to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration and compensate for problems
- Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments, templates, fixtures and knowledge of GDT standards
- Maintain continuity among shifts by documenting and communicating actions taken thus far as well as any necessary further steps
- Any other task assigned by supervisor or management
- Maintain conscientious work behaviors including work ethic, safety standards, quality, costs, and On‑Time Delivery (OTD)
- Experience:
1+ years of experience running CNC Lathes. Preferably CNC single and double spindle lathe - Knowledge:
Knowledge of various inspection equipment i.e. micrometers, calipers, and height gages;
Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations;
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensional Tolerancing;
Understanding of cutting tool Geometry;
Knowledge of tooling and coordination - Skills/Abilities:
Able to work quickly and efficiently through Process Improvement structure;
Good verbal and written communication;
Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping - Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or equivalent - Eligibility Requirement:
This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
- CNC‑Mills
- Understanding of CNC G Code
- Understanding of basic Math, Geometry and Trigonometry
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment
- Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE
- May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes
- Flexible and willing to work overtime if necessary
