Overview
Crane Aerospace and Electronics has an exciting opportunity for a Machine Operator at our Auburn, CA/Vian Enterprises location. Hours are Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm. We will help anyone outside of the Bay area relocate with a sign-on bonus up to $5,000 and a separate $1,000 sign-on bonus for new hires.

Founded in 1968, Crane Aerospace & Electronics’ Auburn, Calif., facility has a history of excellence in the design and manufacturing of multi-stage lubrication and gerotor pumps for aerospace and defense applications. The Auburn team is known for providing industry-leading, complex, highly engineered flow control products for mission-critical engine/APU systems. The facility is located in the Northern California foothills of the Sierra Nevada at a state-of-the-art 65,000 sq.
ft. location.
The Machine Operator works with computer-controlled equipment or more mechanically based machines to ensure they are set up properly, functioning well, and producing high quality products. The Machine Operator performs recurring assignments proficiently and independently, normally under minimal supervision in accordance with established procedures and practices.
Essential Functions- Setup, adjust and operate machines/equipment used in aerospace manufacturing (e.g., 3 and 4 axis CNC Mill, heat press, calipers, micrometers).
- Make manual adjustments to the machine interface and controls to optimize performance, ensure proper operation, and validate product compliance.
- Support Crane Business System (CBS) initiatives including 5S, KPIs, Standard Work, Problem Solving, and other initiatives as they arise.
- Meet and establish lead times to support customers’ needs.
- Perform routine maintenance of equipment in the respective area of responsibility.
- Manage consumables in the respective machines.
- Practice safe work habits as established by OSHA and Crane policy.
- Any other task assigned by supervisor or management.
- Generates Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) for quality related issues as required.
- Create a status report for coworkers on the following shift.
- Use company intranet and Learning Management System as needed.
- Experience:
2-5 years of experience in a machine shop. Experience with a 3 or 4 axis CNC mill and/or heat press highly preferred. - Knowledge:
Competent in interpreting applicable specifications and understanding operating principles of the machinery; understand general shop computations. - Skills/Abilities:
Problem solving, troubleshooting, and simple machine maintenance skills; ability to understand oral and written instructions, maintain routine records; accurate color vision and depth perception; ability to work in conditions typical of manufacturing environments; ability to flex work schedule to maintain processes and workflow; ability to read and understand production or engineering prints and related information. - Education/Certification:
High School diploma or equivalent. - Eligibility Requirement:

- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance; knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Aerospace experience or manufacturing experience in a regulated field.
- Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
- May require safety equipment such as safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, and other PPE.
