The Mechanic-Refrigeration and Air Conditioning is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of various types of refrigeration and air conditioning units, equipment and corresponding control systems. The Mechanic-Refrigeration and Air Conditioning troubleshoots and repairs air handling units, dx, chilled water, hot water, humidifier systems, variable air volume boxes and all associated electric, pneumatic and direct digital controls. Additional responsibilities include servicing and maintaining both reciprocating and screw chillers, environmental test chambers as well as kitchen refrigeration equipment, custom automotive test cells, paint booths and building automation system (BAS).
The Mechanic-Refrigeration and Air Conditioning must hold such licenses as the laws of the community require.
Basic Qualifications- High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Eight (8) years of documented experience or a U.S. Department of Labor Completion of Apprenticeship Certificate as a Mechanic-Refrigeration and Air Conditioning in a Manufacturing Environment
- Ability to work from blueprints, drawings, layouts or other specifications
- Ability and knowledge in brazing and soldering
- Ability and knowledge to clean, lubricate, or adjust parts and equipment
- Ability and knowledge to troubleshoot electrical controls, pneumatic controls, direct digital controls (DDC), and mechanical refrigeration components.
- Ability and knowledge to install, troubleshoot and replace Variable Air Volume (VAV) systems and control modules
- Ability and knowledge in PLC programming as it relates to HVAC equipment
- Ability to inspect HVAC systems to detect malfunctions and make necessary repairs and adjustments
- Ability, with or without reasonable accommodation, to work any shift and work some overtime, including daily, weekend and holidays
- Perform incidental tasks as required to complete the larger task
- E.P.A. certified in refrigerant recovery
- Holds such licenses as the laws of the community require
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to complete required preventive maintenance at defined intervals on the HVAC and other equipment
- Johnson Metasys experience
- Low temperature process refrigeration experience
- Vibration analysis
- Perform other duties as required to meet the needs of the department and company
- Strong computer skills
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems
- In order to be considered for this position, your work experience and U.S. Department of Labor Completion of Apprenticeship Certification as a Mechanic-Refrigeration and Air Conditioning in a manufacturing environment must be documented and verified.
