Graduate Research Assistantship Position Opening for a PhD Student in Bull Reproductive Physiology
The Klabnik Lab is looking to enroll a PhD student on a graduate research assistantship (GRA) for Fall 2026. Research projects relate to bull reproductive development, cellular physiology, and –omics data analysis and interpretation.
During the program, the GRA will develop skills in low‑stress cattle handling; sperm collection, analysis, and cryopreservation; blood sampling; RNA extraction and analyses; R statistical coding; manuscript preparation and grantsmanship. The GRA is expected to present results at local, national and/or international scientific meetings. The GRA will work both independently as well as collaboratively with other faculty, staff, and graduate students and will be involved in training and mentoring undergraduate students.
The ideal candidate will have an MS in a relevant scientific area including animal science, reproductive physiology, or a related field, a strong work ethic and a commitment to becoming an independent scientist with critical thinking skills, and excellent communication and organizational skills. Experience related to semen analysis, animal handling, blood collection, RNA benchtop procedures, and/or R statistical coding is preferred.
