Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to the following:

  • Participates in EHS required leading indicator metrics (BBS, Safety Talk Calendar, required trainings, ERGO improvements and incident management at a minimum) to drive world‑class safety results and culture.
  • In conjunction with Quality Engineering, Purchasing and Operations coordinates and prioritizes the development of new vendors or changes to materials, including Food Protection, Extrusion, Film and Molding products and/or processes to ensure Aptar CSP and Food Protection business objectives are reached.
  • Oversees the resources of Supplier Quality and Operations Compliance resources. Responsible for training a peer to relieve you and training a downline employee to back you up as well.
  • Ensures compliance with Aptar CSP procedures to meet business needs.
  • Ensures compliance for Food Protection and Food Protection operational department (Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering).
  • Quality of product and Customer focus is supported by training of oneself is > 80% to plan, timely response to CAR's, incidents and QMS requirements. Supports customer visits and audits.
  • Schedules 1:1 with n+1 at least every other week. Scores oneself on performance to responsibilities and compares and contrasts with n+1.
  • Updates n+1 on objectives status at least twice per year.
  • Defines SMART objectives annually and creates alignment with n+1 such that this is to plan.
  • Engages with employees and has at least 4 OPL's and 4 OPK's per year.

Lead member of the Food Safety Team

  • Perform all other duties as required.
  • Work with interested departments in assessing raw material characteristics and properties, safety, handling, and storage requirements across the organization's operations.
  • Coordinate with interested departments, suppliers, and manufacturers to ensure changes in raw material are thoroughly assessed before they are implemented.
  • Ensure raw and packaging materials comply with specifications and regulatory requirements and the raw materials specifications are reviewed and reassessed.
  • Assist in defining supply chain and logistics management processes, in setting up organizational needs and requirements, in identifying supply network sources, and in building relationships through supplier quality agreements.
  • Assess suppliers' performance using a risk‑based management process approach ensuring the higher the risk, the greater the level of control exerted.
  • Assess CSP raw materials' risks in the context of overall supplier chain and in reference to the importance and significance of each material within the organization's overall business.
  • Investigate any manufacturing quality or process issues caused by raw material(s) ensuring that when needed, the supplier(s) is involved in the search for root cause and corrective actions.
  • Conduct periodic suppliers' audits to ensure CSP raw materials are manufactured in safe environments using quality systems with reliable controls that are suitable to high‑quality standards. The frequency of the audits is dictated by such factors that include each material and supplier's risks as well as the importance and significance of each material within the organization's overall business.
  • Stay abreast of quality standards changes and manage the creation of new or the revision of existing procedures as required by the changes.
  • Keep informed regarding pending industry changes, trends, and best practices and assess the potential impact of these changes on organizational processes.
  • Contribute to the development, the modification, and the implementation of the organizational practices and policies related to compliance.
  • Establish operations compliance metrics and evaluate performance.
  • Conduct periodic internal reviews and audits to ensure operations are complying with procedures, standards, and industry guidelines requirements.
  • Identify compliance issues that require follow-up or investigation; assess operations compliance requiring improvement, determine operational risks, and assist in developing risk management strategies.
