Theta Xi Fraternity, founded in 1864 during the Civil War, has over 160 years of history dedicated to fostering brotherhood and the values of service to others. As a 501(c)7 non-profit organization, it continues to honor its founding principles while supporting members through resource development, events, and services. Operating alongside the Theta Xi Foundation, a 501(c)3 charity, the organization relocated its headquarters to Atlanta, Georgia, in 2022.

The Headquarters staff manage daily operations, member programming, and engagement with both undergraduate and alumni members, ensuring the legacy of "All True Men" endures in a modern context.

Position Overview

The Leadership Consultant is a full-time, live-in professional staff member embedded within the Beta Zeta Chapter of Theta Xi at Auburn University. The role exists to stabilize operations, strengthen leadership accountability, improve recruitment outcomes, and enhance the overall membership experience.

The Consultant serves as a daily mentor, coach, and operational guide for undergraduate leaders while working collaboratively with alumni volunteers, campus partners, and National Headquarters. This is a hands-on, high-impact role designed for individuals who are passionate about leadership development, organizational improvement, and building healthy, values-based student organizations.

Key responsibilities

Leadership Development & Chapter Operations
  • Facilitate educational workshops for the Chapter on membership recruitment strategy.
  • Coach the Chapter through setting and achieving membership goals.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to Chapter Officers through one-on-one meetings, workshops, and structured check-in.
  • Assist the Chapter in establishing clear expectations, internal systems, and operational consistency
  • Serve as a steady professional presence during periods of leadership turnover or organizational stress
Membership Experience
  • Promote a positive, values-aligned membership experience that supports retention and long-term engagement
  • Facilitate Chapter discussions and workshops as needed on culture, expectations, conflict resolution, organizational health, Chapter operations, risk management, scholarship, and Ritual.
  • Help create an environment where members feel supported, challenged, and accountable.
  • Educate Chapter members on recruitment strategy and effective interpersonal skills
  • Maintain statistical data on Chapter membership numbers, trends, and forecasts
  • Serve as the on-site recruitment consultant, guiding and supporting undergraduate leaders in executing effective recruitment strategies.
  • Work with and train key alumni and volunteers to provide support to the Chapter’s membership experience
  • Assist with the Chapter’s completion of the Annual Report for Accreditation (Chapter Leadership) and other National initiatives
  • Collaborate with the Beta Zeta Alumni Association (Board of Governors) and the Chapter Advisor to ensure alignment, support, and shared accountability.
  • Serve as a consistent liaison between the Chapter, National Headquarters, Beta Zeta Board of Governors, and campus partners.
  • Provide timely communication and updates to key stakeholders as appropriate
General Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with all staff to accomplish tasks and goals, as needed or requested
  • Maintain appropriate documentation, reports, and records related to Chapter performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of Chapter success and organizational standards.

    Improved recruitment outcomes and membership stability
  • Increased effectiveness and accountability of Chapter Officers
  • Strengthened Chapter Operations and adherence to Theta Xi standards
  • Positive working relationship with alumni, advisors, and campus partners
