Position DescriptionWe are seeking a Professional Engineer (PE) with 5–8 years of experience in geotechnical engineering to lead and deliver high-impact projects across public works, transportation, commercial, energy, industrial, and infrastructure sectors.
This role is ideal for a motivated, technically strong Geotechnical Project Engineer who thrives in both field and office environments and is looking to grow into expanded project leadership and technical authority.
You will manage project phases from field investigations and engineering analysis through design recommendations, reporting, and client communication
, while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring quality and safety excellence.
- Lead and perform geotechnical investigations
, subsurface explorations, and field observations - Conduct soil mechanics analysis
, foundation design, settlement analysis, slope stability evaluations, and earthwork recommendations - Interpret and evaluate laboratory and field data for inclusion in technical reports
- Prepare and review detailed geotechnical engineering reports
, proposals, and cost estimates - Manage project scope, schedule, and budget to ensure successful delivery
- Provide quality control review of technical documents and proposals
- Develop engineering recommendations and resolve complex design and construction challenges
- Review construction activities to ensure compliance with plans and specifications
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers, field personnel, and project staff
- Interface directly with clients to define scope, communicate findings, and provide engineering solutions
- Support business development efforts including proposal preparation and client engagement
- Promote and uphold strong safety and quality standards across all projects
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- 5–8 years of geotechnical engineering experience
- 1–2+ years of experience post-PE licensure preferred
- Strong background in:
- Geotechnical analysis and design
- Soil mechanics and foundation engineering
- Technical report writing
- Construction observation and inspection
- Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and client relationships
- Proven ability to supervise and mentor junior staff
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred
