Circular Economy (CE) manages launch of remanufactured driveline assembly (transmission, transfer case, PTU, drive shafts, half shafts) service parts. The CE engineer identifies, tracks, and approves testing and validation of remanufactured service parts. The CE engineer ensures parts have applicable engineering documents created and corporate-released for compliance, traceability, and ease of future corporate reference. The CE engineer tracks part releases through the multiple departments within CE & Mopar, to ensure parts are placed on shelf in a timely fashion and without hindrances.
The ideal candidate understands the product releasing process, including Engineering Change Notice, PPAP/APQP metrics, and Engineering Drawing interpretation. This position requires a team player with excellent interpersonal skills able to work in a dynamic cross-functional team.
- Understand engineering aspects of past-model parts, such as design, specifications, and materials, to implement changes without affecting original design intent.
- Create engineering change notices to document and approve service part releases and changes. Then track and manage released service parts through downstream departments, such as purchasing and inventory control, to ensure timely launch
- Manage engineering aspects of supplier submitted part deviation requests.
- Manage engineering aspects of supplier re‑sourcing activities.
- Recommend and implement technical cost save initiatives.
- Recommend and implement part warranty cost reduction initiatives.
- Identify Validation requirements for service parts changes, track testing progress, and approve test results.
- Create design work requests to release models and drawings for service parts.
- Approve Engineering documents from suppliers’ PPAP submissions, such as DVPR & DFMEA.
- Interface with material engineering to approve service parts material deviation requests.
- Modify parts service procedures to optimize labor time, reducing warranty cost.
- Create long term storage (LTS) solutions for all-time buy parts.
- 5+ years of Driveline design and release engineering or process engineering experience
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related degree
- Experience driving several simultaneous projects taking 6 – 9 months thru many implementation requirements
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings
- Knowledgeable in Teamcenter and an understanding of PPAP/APQP metrics
- Functional test engineering experience
- MBA or Master's in engineering
- GD&T Knowledge
