Job Summary
The Alabama Cooperative Extension System’s Forestry, Wildlife, and Natural Resources team is looking for a part‑time student worker to begin February 2026 to assist with operational needs of the 2026 Year of Alabama Invasive Plants Project. This project is an effort to raise public awareness about invasive plants and their impacts throughout Alabama through social media, in‑person and online workshops, and volunteer opportunities.
This position is flexible and can be partly remote with some on‑campus work required. An on‑campus workspace will be available in the Forestry & Wildlife Sciences Building Extension Office. The student worker will collaborate with Extension Agents across the state and the Media Production Specialist to perform assigned tasks in a timely manner.
This is a year‑round, part‑time opportunity that offers a flexible schedule of up to 12 hours per week at $12 per hour. The ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities independently and on deadline is required. The ideal candidate must demonstrate maturity, organizational and detail‑oriented skills, professionalism, self‑discipline and initiative, dependability, punctuality, as well as a positive, upbeat customer service‑oriented attitude and attention to detail in their work and interactions with faculty and staff.

- Perform data entry and assist with quarterly reporting
- Prepare packages for mailing
- Assist with biweekly email communications
- Assist with event promotion, including the development and dissemination of marketing materials
- Communicate with Extension agents, County Extension Coordinators, and Extension Specialists across the state as needed
- Coordinate with ACES Forestry and Wildlife Media Specialist for engagement updates and assist as needed with social media graphics or videos
- Coordinate with ACES Communications team to schedule press releases and other media announcements as needed
- Complete a variety of tasks in a timely manner
