The School of Industrial and Graphic Design (SIGD) at Auburn University invites candidates to apply for a non-tenure track Lecturer position. This is a full-time position to commence in August 2026 with a three-year term and the possibility of a multi-year extension.
Skills- Strong ability to teach freshman-level lecturer courses.
- Versed in communicating elements of design foundations, design as a human-centered practice, design in how it impacts user experience, and design as it relates to sustainability.
- Ability to teach Orthographic and Perspective sketching methods.
- Ability to teach Solid Works or similar 3D parametric modeling software.
- Ability to employ 3D printing, CNC milling, resin casting, and electroplating processes to assist in the creation of high-fidelity prototypes for existing studio classes and/or in support of annual SIGD events such as the annual student show “Kaleidoscope.”
Responsibilities of the appointment are as follows: 95% teaching and 5% service. The teaching load consists of four lecture courses (12 credit hours total) per semester.
