About UsBC Stone Homes is a growing residential construction and development company headquartered in Auburn, Alabama. We operate across residential construction, land development, property management, waste hauling, and related businesses through a 20+ entity structure.
Our organization operates within a multi-subsidiary Net Suite environment that supports the majority of our entities. Our primary construction entity utilizes Sage 100 Contractor for project-level accounting and job costing. Financial reporting across systems is coordinated to support consolidated reporting and oversight.

Position OverviewThe Controller oversees daily accounting operations across BC Stone Homes and related entities. This role ensures timely financial close, accurate reporting, and disciplined execution of accounting procedures.
Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Controller maintains the integrity of the general ledger, supports multi-entity reporting, supervises accounting staff, and helps formalize processes as the company scales.
This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who is comfortable working inside a live Net Suite multi‑subsidiary environment and enforcing structure within a growing organization.
You will have meaningful responsibility, visibility into complex ownership structures, and the opportunity to help strengthen accounting infrastructure as the company continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Ensure accurate financial statements across multiple entities
- Maintain fully reconciled balance sheet accounts and supporting schedules
- Support preparation of consolidated reporting
- Record and reconcile intercompany transactions
- Maintain accurate loan and capital account schedules
- Oversee WIP schedules and job cost reporting
- Ensure job costing and revenue recognition are reflected accurately in financial reporting
- Support subcontractor compliance and vendor documentation processes
- Prepare schedules and documentation for external tax advisors
- Oversee 1099 compliance and payroll tax reporting
- Maintain organized support for insurance audits, lender requests, and external reviews
- Support partnership tax matters, including related‑party transactions, disregarded entities, capital account tracking, and intercompany ownership structures
- Oversee entity‑level compliance processes, including business licenses, professional registrations, annual reports, property tax filings, and regulatory renewals, ensuring deadlines and documentation are properly maintained
- Operate daily within Net Suite’s multi‑subsidiary environment
- Maintain reporting accuracy across Net Suite and Sage 100 Contractor
- Support coordination of month‑end reporting between Sage 100 Contractor and Net Suite environments
- Utilize Net Suite modules including Net Loan and Net Asset
- Oversee corporate card and expense systems (Ramp)
- Strengthen close checklists and documentation standards
- Identify opportunities to improve workflow and reduce manual errors
- Supervise and develop accounting staff
- Review work for accuracy and completeness
- Establish clear expectations around deadlines and accountability

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred but not required)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Required:
Experience working in Net Suite, including multi‑subsidiary environments - Experience with intercompany accounting and consolidations
- Construction or real estate accounting experience preferred
- Experience supervising or reviewing staff work
- Strong understanding of GAAP fundamentals
- Detail‑oriented mindset with strong organizational skills
