Position Summary:
  • Kassouf is currently seeking a Tax Manager in our Birmingham office.
  • The Tax Manager will work closely with staff, partners, and clients and will be responsible for planning, supervision, review, and completion of client engagements.
  • This individual will also provide proactive tax advisory services for our clients, work to grow relationships, attract new clients, and serve as a critical contact for designated clients.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in accounting.
  • Active CPA license.
  • 7+ years of public accounting tax experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Pro System, Engagement, Doc.

    It and Adobe software.
  • Experience with complex corporate taxation, individuals, and partnerships including multi‑state tax returns, extensions, and tax planning calculations.
  • Experience with compiled financial statements
  • Ability to develop tax planning strategies for clients.
  • Experience supervising, training, developing, and reviewing the work of associates and senior associates.
  • Perform advanced tax research and document conclusions
  • Experience managing projects including managing and monitoring client deliverables and due dates
  • Experience handling IRS and State income tax inquiries, audits, and notices
  • Willing to assist with business development efforts, including but not limited to, meeting with prospective clients, preparing fee quotes and proposals, and evaluating clients’ needs.
