General Purpose

As a Bus Driver, you would perform a variety of routine and complex transportation work in driving a car or bus, coordinating transportation plans in support of senior adult programs.

Schedule:

Thursdays and Fridays from 7:30am - 3:30pm

Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent
  • Ability to obtain a First Aid and CPR/AED certification within the first three months of employment
  • Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving
  • Skill in operation of a wheelchair lift
  • Ability to safely drive a bus or van
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, riders and the public
  • Ability to read maps and general knowledge of city streets and outlying areas
  • Ability to do basic mathematical computations
  • Ability to use smart phone and digital navigation

Pay Rate: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour depending on qualifications.

Questions regarding the position should be referred to the Human Resources Department by email  an effort to improve the overall health of our workforce, the City of Auburn Hills adopted a policy against hiring tobacco users. All applicants are subject to a nicotine test in the final step of the hiring process. Those who test positive for nicotine from tobacco use may reapply for employment after six months.
