Senior Android Engineer (Kotlin) – Mobile CI/CD (Fastlane)
Role Overview
Own the Android experience end-to-end—building native features in Kotlin (1.7+), shaping clean architecture with Jetpack
, and shipping reliably through Fastlane
, Gradle
, and the Google Play Console
. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys delivering production-ready mobile software: secure-by-design, testable, and supported by automated build and release pipelines. You’ll collaborate closely with product, design, and backend teams to take features from concept to launch.
What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain native Android features using Kotlin (1.7+) on API level 30+
- Implement modern Android architecture using Jetpack components (View Model, Live Data, Life cycles, Navigation, View Binding, Compose as applicable)
- Use Coroutines extensively for concurrency and asynchronous work
- Own build and release workflows:
Gradle build files
, product flavors
, and CI/CD automation with Fastlane - Manage app releases and configurations in Google Play Console
- Integrate Android apps with REST web services
- Collaborate cross-functionally to define, design, and ship features
- Participate in code reviews and apply strong software design patterns and conventions
- Write and maintain unit tests and UI tests
- Apply mobile security best practices for data on-device and in transit
- Support localization needs for global markets when needed
- Present ideas, concepts, and POCs to stakeholders (including executive audiences) as appropriate
Required Qualifications (Must-Haves)
- 5+ years of software development experience with strong depth in native Android
- Senior-level proficiency in Kotlin (1.7+)
- Strong experience with Android Studio
- Experience with API level 30+
- Hands-on experience with Gradle (creating/maintaining build files)
- Experience creating and configuring product flavors
- Experience with Fastlane for mobile build/release automation
- Comfortable managing releases in Google Play Console
- Strong working knowledge of Jetpack architecture components (e.g., View Model, Live Data, Life cycles, Navigation, View Binding, Compose)
- Extensive experience using Coroutines
- Experience integrating with REST APIs
- Proficient with Git
- Solid understanding of mobile application security concepts and risks
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with localization/internationalization for global apps
- Strong communication skills with experience presenting technical concepts/POCs
- Experience strengthening CI/CD reliability and automated deployments at scale.
