The Utility Team Member (Dishwasher) is a critical part of the culinary operation, ensuring the cleanliness, organization, and smooth function of the kitchen for a multi‑outlet pickleball facility. This venue includes a grab‑and‑go market, an order‑and‑pickup restaurant, and event catering, all of which rely on efficient dishwashing and utility support.
This individual must be reliable, hardworking, and able to manage their time well in a fast‑paced environment. The Utility team member will support the entire kitchen team by cleaning and sanitizing dishes, utensils, equipment, and work areas, while also assisting with basic prep or maintenance tasks as needed. A positive attitude, strong teamwork, and attention to detail are essential to success in this role.
Dishwashing& Sanitation
- Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all dish areas, including sinks, dish machines, racks, and storage spaces.
- Follow all sanitation and safety procedures to ensure a hygienic kitchen environment.
- Monitor dish machine temperature, chemicals, and functionality, reporting issues promptly.
- Assist with sweeping, mopping, trash removal, recycling, and general kitchen cleanliness.
- Support food prep tasks as requested, such as gathering ingredients, unpacking deliveries, or simple prep.
- Maintain clean floors, drains, walls, and other surfaces to ensure a safe workspace for all culinary staff.
- Restock necessary items such as gloves, towels, paper goods, and cleaning supplies.
- Keep up with high‑volume dishwashing needs during peak service and events.
- Ensure dishes and equipment are returned to the correct locations quickly and neatly.
- Maintain organization of storage areas, including dry goods, cleaning supplies, and equipment.
- Assist chefs and cooks by ensuring they have clean tools and equipment throughout the shift.
- Work closely with cooks, chefs, servers, and event staff to support smooth kitchen operations.
- Communicate effectively regarding dish backlogs, equipment issues, or safety concerns.
- Contribute positively to a respectful, collaborative, and efficient kitchen culture.
- Support additional tasks as needed during busy periods or events.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a dishwasher, utility worker, or similar role.
- Strong work ethic and ability to manage time in a high‑volume environment.
- Team‑first attitude with excellent reliability and communication skills.
- Ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures at all times.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and event days as needed.
- Experience in country clubs, resorts, or multi‑outlet operations.
- Familiarity with commercial dish machines and kitchen sanitation practices.
- Basic understanding of kitchen workflow and equipment organization.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and safely handle large cookware and equipment.
- Comfort working in a warm, fast‑paced environment.
