CNC Operator; Blanchard Grinder

Overview

Job Summary:

Must be able to Set-up, maintain, operate and adjust Blanchard grinding machines, Flat, Square & parallel.

• Analyze blueprints, visualize grinding process, and understand the sequence of machining operations required.
• Understand the characteristics of abrasives to select and dress the appropriate grinding wheel.
• Select optimal feed rates, grinding speeds, depths of cuts, etc.
• Inspect and verify dimensions of work piece for conformance to print specifications using measuring instruments such as templates, micrometers, dial indicators, and gauge blocks
• Should be able to operate cranes and forklifts.
• Operate calipers and micrometers to measure steel thickness to one thousandth of an inch (.001”).
• Must be able to operate a Blanchard grinder - 60” magnetic chuck.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on Blanchard equipment.
• Other duties and projects may be assigned.

• High school diploma or general education diploma (GED);
• Minimum of one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of overhead cranes, Hi-lo, Pallet Jack and other related equipment required to perform the job function.
• Knowledge of safety precautions in the Manufacturing environment.
