Production Planning Specialist (Sequencer)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dynamic Production Planning Specialist (Sequencer) to join our Supply Chain Management (SCM) team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing gateline schedules (sequenced orders) in our Assembly Plant, ensuring production programs, supplier capabilities, and plant constraints are all met. This role is pivotal to maintaining smooth production flow, addressing material restrictions, and successfully launching new models.

Overview

As part of a collaborative team, you'll coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, including plant management, capacity planning, and demand planning, to ensure alignment on schedules and to drive continuous improvement. In some instances, weekend support may be required to maintain production schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Material Restriction Meetings:
    Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely execution of features, packaging, and production builds
  • Collaborate on Launch Curves:
    Work closely with assembly plant management to develop and implement timing for new features and programs
  • Drive Order Flow Process:
    Oversee the flow of orders, including build code management and error resolution, ensuring minimal production impact
  • Manage Successful Launches:
    Ensure the successful execution of buildouts and new model year launches, aligning with buildout timings and production plans
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    Collaborate with key stakeholders across SCM Production Planning, SCM Demand Planning, Plant Personnel, and SCM Capacity Planning to balance inventory and profit opportunities
  • Optimize Processes:
    Work with ICT to leverage OSS and FOG systems, optimizing production processes to meet business goals

Basic

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Production Planning, Manufacturing, or a closely related field
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences across various levels of the company
  • Advanced analytical skills and proficiency with tools like Excel, and other relevant analysis tools and processes
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex issues simultaneously, with the flexibility to adapt quickly to changing business needs
  • Proven problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach to building consensus across departments
  • Self-directed with a passion for continuous improvement and driving results
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with production scheduling software and systems such as OSS and FOG
  • Project management experience, especially in leading cross-functional initiatives
