DescriptionGeneral Summary
The R&D Engineering role is a short term program designed for a group of students or entry level engineers to support Engineering efforts such as Product Requirements, Safety Assessments, Regulatory Reviews, Bill Of Material (BOM) management (Cost, Weight, Power, Data), and Configuration Management for new and active programs.
Support engineering systems projects from concept through prototype build.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering teams to support product development initiatives.
Assist with fabrication, assembly, and modification of mechanical and electrical components in a shop floor environment.
Support electrical wiring, troubleshooting, and basic system integration under engineering supervision.
Create and revise engineering documentation including drawings, test procedures, work instructions, and technical reports.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret technical data to support design validation and performance improvement.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and established manufacturing procedures.
QualificationsSenior undergraduate student, recent graduate (BSME or BSEE), or graduate student pursuing a Master’s in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Exposure to manufacturing environments and shop floor operations preferred.
Hands‑on experience with fabrication tools, mechanical assembly, or electrical wiring strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of CAD software (Solid Works, AutoCAD, or similar) preferred.
Basic understanding of electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in a cross‑functional team environment.
