Position SummaryThe Senior Program Manager for Steering Wheel (SW) Product Business Unit leads the development and execution of program plans for specific customer platforms, ensuring timely, on‑budget delivery while managing resources, risks, and cross‑functional teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Develop, monitor, control and update the Program Plan, Milestone Schedule and Action Item Register to support awarded business.
- Act as team leader coordinating cross‑functional activities and elevate conflicts to JSS management.
- Support Product Engineering in developing and maintaining Component Design Specifications and performance characteristics.
- Ensure assembly plant capability and timely delivery of prototype parts.
- Support DV and PV builds, review test plans, obtain customer approval and follow‑up on results.
- Maintain professional relationships with the customer, assisting Account Manager with competitive intelligence.
- Develop and manage the program budget, forecast and track capital and tooling expenditures.
- Resolve supplier engineering and manufacturing concerns.
- Provide support for all pre‑production builds and SOP.
- Lead Early Supplier Team meetings.
- Lead by example, maintaining high standards of ethical business conduct.
- Create a work environment of mutual respect and open communication.
- Serve as a resource for employees, contractors, suppliers and partners on Code of Ethics and Business Conduct.
- Proactively address ethical issues and discuss them with stakeholders.
- Respond quickly and effectively to problems involving ethics.
- Avoid actions that exceed authority; seek guidance when uncertain.
- Do not delegate authority to those who may act illegally or unethically.
- Read, understand and sign the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct certification.
- Act with integrity in all business decisions.
- Complete all scheduled ethics and compliance training.
- Familiarize yourself with Joyson Safety Systems’ Ethics and Compliance Policies.
- Report violations of laws, the Code of Conduct or company policies to the appropriate authority.
- Ensure the quality and integrity of data and information related to your role.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Team player and ability to work with minimal direction.
- Capability to interface with all levels of JSS, suppliers and customer organization.
- Experience managing conflict and problem resolution.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Program Management, Engineering, Business or related field (required).
- MBA and/or PMP certification (preferred).
- Minimum 7 years automotive Program Management experience.
