Duties
We seek a Senior Project Engineer based out of our office at 4554 Glenmeade Lane, Auburn Hills, MI 48326. Note, this position does not require travel.
Perform project engineering activities, which includes design and BOM management. Conduct system and component release activities. Coordinate and execute design engineering tasks associated with research and development projects in the commercial engine development group. Support the commercial engine development group with internal and customer projects ranging from medium-duty, heavy-duty, and industrial and large engines for on- and off-road, locomotive, marine, power generation, and other applications.
Collaborate with FEV’s global engineering team and follow guidance by a structured design process to work on engine powertrain subsystems and components for the development of solutions for current and future challenges.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering and 36 months of experience in automotive and powertrain engineering
- 36 months of engineering experience with mechanical systems and components
- Experience using CAD software, CREO, NX, and Catia for design engineering
- Experience conducting project management
- Experience conducting product life cycle management
- Experience conducting supplier management
- Experience using Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
- Experience using DFMEA and DVP&R
- Experience using the DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) process
