Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Wiring Harness Design Engineer to lead the end-to-end design and development of automotive wiring harness schematics. This role involves defining harness architecture, wire routing, and CAN network layouts while ensuring compliance with system specifications and industry standards. The ideal candidate collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to support design, validation, and release in a high-volume automotive environment.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop wiring harness schematics for automotive applications
- Define harness architecture and wire routing based on product requirements
- Determine appropriate wire and fuse sizing to meet system specifications
- Implement and optimize CAN network layouts within vehicle architecture
- Translate product plans into harness complexity and schematic designs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support harness development, validation, and release
- Review and interpret wiring harness drawings, ensuring adherence to industry standards and specifications
- Support technical documentation management for wiring harnesses, including internal documentation platforms
- Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
- Experience with DFMEA, DVP&R, and DFSS development tools and processes
- Working knowledge of CAD systems such as NX and CATIA
- Fluency in Spanish and English
- Experience in high-volume automotive manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with wiring harness drawings and automotive specifications
