Reliance One, Inc. is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to lead and execute effective manufacturing engineering and build processes for product retrofits—from initial planning through final shipment. This role is critical to ensuring product quality, project alignment, and strong cross-functional collaboration throughout the build process.
Primary Responsibilities- Develop and maintain control plans, build plans, quality documentation, safety requirements, PPE specifications, and packaging/shipping plans in accordance with quality processes
- Estimate labor, design, build, and engineering resource needs for projects
- Coordinate and lead manufacturing review meetings to maintain project schedules
- Interface with purchasing regarding supplier and component selection; initiate purchase requisitions
- Coordinate validation testing to ensure products meet design requirements
- Manage customer-supplied items in accordance with quality processes and customer requirements
- Maintain rigorous document control per quality procedures
- Address issues and lead problem-solving activities using established quality processes
- Serve as a liaison between Project Managers, Engineers, Customers, Vendors, and Manufacturing teams
- Provide ongoing project status updates to teams and management
- Identify, propose, and justify tooling and equipment improvements to enhance quality and reduce manufacturing costs
- Maintain reliable and consistent attendance
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Provide effective project leadership through clear communication, active listening, and trust-building
- Demonstrate sound judgment and resourcefulness when resolving unexpected challenges
- Stay current on emerging technologies that improve quality, reduce costs, and drive targeted results
- Contribute to continuous improvement of corporate and group functions
- Provide feedback to Manufacturing Managers/Supervisors regarding technician performance, productivity, and anticipated challenges
- Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and progress reports
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies
- Associate’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Systems, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline with relevant work experience
- Experience in industrial design and/or project management within robotics or industrial automation
- Experience with ISO Quality Systems, Resource Planning Systems, and OSHA requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate, work independently, and thrive in a dynamic environment
- Demonstrated ability to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience
- Minimum of two years of industrial design and/or project management experience in robotics or industrial automation
- Strong visual acuity, hearing, and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet customer-driven deadlines
- Minimal travel required, with occasional visits to suppliers, outsourced operations, or trade shows
- Ability to operate test equipment, machinery, audiovisual equipment, and power tools
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work at heights using ladders or scaffolding, and operate a motor vehicle
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment while also using standard office equipment
- Capacity to learn new tasks, follow established processes, maintain focus, work independently, make timely decisions, interact professionally with visitors, and meet productivity expectations
