Overview
The Manufacturing Engineer will support manufacturing process development initiatives for automotive and advanced technology clients. This role involves interpreting technical requirements, developing manufacturing processes, performing lean analysis, supporting capital equipment recommendations, and building technical and financial evaluations for competing processes. The successful candidate will work hands-on with customers to ensure successful project execution and requires strong technical depth, problem-solving skills, and the ability to independently drive critical manufacturing engineering tasks.
Responsibilities- Translate technical data packages into process requirements.
- Plan, design, and launch manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Perform lean analysis of equipment layout, workflow, and labor utilization.
- Evaluate and recommend capital equipment solutions.
- Create technical and financial business cases for process selection.
- Interface directly with customers to review progress and deliverables.
- Conduct manufacturing system simulations including material flow and facility layout.
- Work collaboratively within cross-functional engineering teams.
- 10+ years of experience in process, industrial, or manufacturing engineering.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing product development, production processes, equipment, and machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret technical data packages and convert them into manufacturing/assembly requirements.
- Experience planning, designing, and launching manufacturing processes.
- Proven ability to apply lean principles to workflows, layouts, and process efficiency.
- Experience developing technical and financial business cases for process/equipment down-selection.
- Experience with material flow analysis, facility layout, or manufacturing systems simulation.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, process optimization, and simulation tools.
This is an on-site role located in Auburn Hills, MI. The position involves working within integrated project teams, collaborating with engineers, customers, and cross-functional groups in a fast-paced consulting/manufacturing environment. The role supports multiple clients and requires local and occasional overnight travel to client sites. The work environment offers exposure to manufacturing, automation, and advanced engineering projects.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Auburn Hills, MI.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
