Junior Design & Release Engineer – Chassis Systems

The Junior Chassis D&R Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and release of chassis components and subsystems (such as suspension, braking, steering, or frames). This role involves managing the product lifecycle from initial concept through mass production, ensuring all components meet performance, weight, cost, and durability targets using Siemens NX.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain high-quality 3D models, 2D drawings, and assemblies using Siemens NX according to industry standards.
• Develop and update Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) schemes, Bill of Materials (BOM), and DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
• Interface with suppliers to ensure components meet manufacturing feasibility (DFM) and assembly requirements (DFA).
• Assist in defining DVP&R (Design Verification Plan and Report) requirements and support physical testing and prototype builds.
• Work closely with Procurement, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to resolve technical issues and optimize component costs.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in the automotive industry (internships or Formula SAE experience highly valued).
• Advanced command of Siemens NX (Solid & Surface modeling).
• Familiarity with Teamcenter or similar PLM environments.
• Basic understanding of chassis kinematics and vehicle dynamics.
• Foundational knowledge of materials (steel, aluminum, polymers) and manufacturing processes (casting, stamping, forging).
• Knowledge of GD&T
