As part of the team, you will collaborate on challenging engineering problems and contribute to vehicle architecture, packaging, and initial systems and component engineering design. The engineer will lead cross‑functional activities to integrate vehicle systems, translate objectives into technical requirements, analyze concepts, and benchmark competitive vehicles. Presentation of design concepts to management is required.

Responsibilities

The Advanced Design Engineer is responsible for designing and developing new vehicles that meet future regulatory and customer requirements. Key duties include establishing physical and functional integration of vehicle systems and components during the program planning phase (concept to program approval), translating strategic objectives into technical requirements, creating and analyzing alternative design concepts, packaging and integrating systems, and benchmarking competitive vehicles.

Lead an extended cross‑functional team to balance requirements and achieve optimal solutions; present designs to higher levels of management.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET‑accredited or equivalent program
• 2–5 years of vehicle engineering experience in one or more of:
  Body‑in‑White, Electrical, Interior Systems, Powertrain Adaptations, Engine Systems (Cooling, Fuel, Exhaust), or Chassis Systems
• Expertise in Team Center, NX CAD Software & Vis Mockup with demonstrated skills to:
  • Develop new preproduction data and manage production CAD data structures
  • Position and manipulate models, cut sections, and analyze designs
  • Create and analyze alternative designs and integrate systems and components
  • Create specialized CAD sessions to support management reviews
• Excellent communication skills to lead and coordinate across Client regions
• Ability to operate independently and in a cross‑functional team
• Strong Microsoft Office and Google Suite skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program
• Broad vehicle knowledge
• Ability to integrate stakeholder requirements into final vehicle design
• Excellent relationship building skills
