We are currently seeking a full-time Robotics Field Service Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate must have at least 5 years of experience and be familiar with IRC5 ABB robots.

Responsiveness, communication, and continuous follow-up are key components of providing excellent customer service.

As a member of our Robotics Service Team, this position has a high impact on corporate revenues and customer servicing. The engineer acts as the primary interface between the customer and the company, significantly influencing the company's image. Efficient follow-through and communication are essential.

Main Accountabilities:
  • Perform emergency repairs of company system equipment in the field (on-call position)
  • Support system integration of ABB robots in build shops and at end-user sites
  • Perform robot program changes, including logic, software, and path modifications
  • Perform mechanical repairs or replacements as needed
  • Provide informal training on robots or systems to customers
  • Have knowledge of PLC communications and robotic peripheral equipment
  • Maintain strong customer relationships through effective communication, even under high pressure
  • Proactively support customer needs
  • Identify work activities during slow periods
  • Travel on short notice and handle air travel demands
  • Submit sales leads for additional robotic and system opportunities
  • Communicate work location and status daily
  • Challenges:
    • Interface with Lead Center, Channel Partners, and End Customers
    • Manage demanding customer expectations
    • Meet internal and external customer needs in a timely manner
    Knowledge, Skills, and

    Experience:
    • Associate's Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent education/experience
    • 2-5+ years of electronic and mechanical experience
    • Experience troubleshooting through deductive reasoning
    • Experience with applications like spot welding, arc welding, painting, or sealing (2-5+ years)
    • Mechanical aptitude for repairs and replacements
    • Knowledge of PLC communications and robotic peripherals
    • Willingness to travel extensively
    • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Power Point
    • Excellent verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Strong organization and detail orientation
    • Customer service experience highly desirable
    • Sound judgment in analyzing issues
    • Ability to manage execution effectively
