xIL Plant Modeling and Integration Engineer

Stellantis PRS organization is seeking a xIL Plant Modeling and Integration Engineer on the PRSW/HIL Plant Modeling Team (XPMD) to work on the plant modeling and integration for xIL systems. The engineer will develop reduced plant models for use on HIL systems and populate the plant models repository with library models, integrating them within MIL, SIL, and HIL environments. The candidate must have demonstrated knowledge and experience in development of HIL systems (dSPACE, ETAS, NI, etc.)

and MIL/SIL systems that use Soft ECUs, Virtual ECUs, and plant models. The engineer will interface primarily with the xIL Systems team to troubleshoot during commissioning, work with global teams across NA, EMEA, APAC, and LATAM, conduct benchmarks, evaluate new xIL technologies, interface with suppliers for plant model requirements, and collaborate on process, methodology, and tools.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive industry and Hardware in Loop/HiL
  • Experience with plant and controller modeling, simulation, development, and testing
  • Experience in Model-Based Development on any Powertrain Application; preferred Matlab‑Simulink/Stateflow/Simscape
  • Knowledge and experience with Powertrain ICE, HEV, and BEV systems
  • Demonstrated Hardware‑In‑the‑Loop systems experience (dSPACE, ETAS, NI HIL systems)
  • Experience with C/C++ code generation
  • Experience with 1‑D physical modeling tools such as GT Power, AMESim and co‑simulation tools
  • Outstanding interpersonal and problem‑solving skills
  • Strong ability to work directly with individuals and groups
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Self‑starter who can work cross‑functionally with other people
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Working experience in Model‑Based Development in Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow/Simscape
  • Knowledge of vehicle dynamics, thermal modeling, 1D model, and specific simulation software
  • Knowledge of Hardware‑in‑Loop and Close‑Loop Plant models executed in real‑time environment
  • Experience working within an AGILE or Scrum framework
  • Ability to adapt to changing environment with minimal effect on productivity
  • Strong understanding of embedded software development
  • Ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels of management
  • Good understanding of embedded software development
  • Experience with data acquisition and analysis tools such as ETAS‑INCA, Vector
