Job Summary

The Supplier Quality Engineer is a key component in any partnership with TI Automotive and its supply chain. The SQE’s role is to ensure that all suppliers meet the required quality standards and specifications set forth in the TI Automotive Supplier Quality & Development Manual, IATF/ISO Standards, and OEM requirements. Responsibilities include evaluating supplier processes, conducting audits, coaching suppliers, supporting root‑cause analysis activities, performing scheduled/unscheduled visits, driving corrective actions on systemic issues, monitoring CS1/CS2 sorting activity, and recovering costs in a timely manner.

This position promotes a cooperative work environment and adheres to TI Automotive’s code of conduct, ensuring fairness, equity, and non‑discriminatory practices. Candidates must hold a valid driver’s license and an active passport, with up to 60% combined domestic and international travel. When not traveling, employees will work the corporate on‑site schedule (Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM) at Auburn Hills, Michigan or the designated regional location.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist TI Automotive Business Units & Plants as part of the Corporate Quality team.
  • Analyze and complete Supplier Risk assessments.
  • Conduct on‑site and virtual Supplier audits; work with suppliers to develop corrective actions, perform follow‑up, and complete validation analysis.
  • Collaborate with TI Automotive Operations to review supplier quality and delivery performance issues.
  • Determine potential risks on components and mitigate disruptions to manufacturing facilities.
  • Ensure Action Plans are developed and monitored for risk‑based suppliers.
  • Manage the SQN portal, ensuring timely and accurate closure of SQN’s and cost recovery efforts.
  • Support BTAB Process, Run @ Rates, and PPAP activities where necessary.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly Executive Reports for Quality, Purchasing, and Business Units.
Job Qualifications
  • Five (5) years of Supplier Quality experience in automotive components.
  • Experience with IATF internal auditing (certification required), PPAP processes (from award to SOP), and Supplier Risk Assessments.
  • Engineering and technical competence required.
  • Experience managing 3rd‑party sorting activity.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent computer skills (Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, SharePoint, ERP systems such as CMS/Epicor/IQMS).
  • Familiarity with related applications (EASE, FIIX).
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative, strong business acumen, and critical thinking.
  • Domestic and international travel required up to 60%; must have valid passport and driver’s license.
  • Ability to manage activities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proven automotive experience in plastic injection molding, blow molding, HVAC systems, consoles, fluid systems, washer bottles, air inlet panels, cowl panels is an asset.
  • Fluency in additional languages is a definite asset but not required.

Working Conditions
