Position: Senior Architect / Project Leader

Senior Architect / Project Leader

We are supporting a growth-oriented architecture firm seeking a Senior Architect / Project Leader to lead projects and support their continued growth. The firm works across educational, municipal, and commercial environments, with a strong emphasis on PreK–12 planning, design, and construction.

This role is well suited for an experienced architect who can lead projects, anticipate and resolve client and technical challenges, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and deliver results from project inception through completion.
Qualified employees participate in an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), receiving annual stock grants that align long-term ownership with firm success. The position offers the opportunity to take on increasing leadership responsibility within the firm.

Responsibilities
  • Report to a Vice President / Principal in Charge and operate with a high level of autonomy
  • Lead projects from planning through construction, including schematic design, documentation, and construction administration
  • Establish project plans and oversee execution from kickoff through occupancy
  • Coordinate engineering and specialty consultants including structural, MEP, civil, technology, food service, and others as required
  • Participate in internal and external project meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors
  • Support design work with 3D models, visualizations, mockups, and presentation materials as needed
  • Participate in technical review processes throughout all project phases to ensure quality and performance
  • Assist with client presentations, interviews, and strategies to secure new work
  • Develop and review building plans in collaboration with project teams
  • Estimate project costs, track budgets, and monitor financial performance
  • Manage project schedules, timelines, billings, payments, and contracts
  • Maintain working relationships with clients, contractors, and consultants
  • Provide mentorship to team members
Qualifications
  • Professional degree in Architecture
  • Ten (10) or more years of experience in architecture, engineering, or construction environments
  • Experience with BIM and hands‑on production and coordination workflows
  • Experience with K–12 or institutional projects is a plus; the firm is open to senior architects with strong leadership experience from other sectors.
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD;
    Revit experience preferred as the firm continues its transition to industry standards
  • Experience with tools such as Bluebeam, Navisworks, BIM 360 / ACC, and cloud‑based collaboration platforms
  • Familiarity with Deltek/Vantage or similar project management systems a plus

  • Client‑facing experience with responsibility for scope, schedule, and delivery
  • Ability to balance design intent, technical requirements, budget, and schedule
