Position Summary
Barton Malow is actively seeking a Furniture Planner that will work out of Auburn Hills, MI. This individual will coordinate, review, design and plan the preparation of construction documentation to achieve proper operation, maintenance and repair of Chrysler Technology Center facilities, furnishings, fixtures, and equipment. This includes, but is not limited to specifying furniture, materials and finishes and understanding how these elements are detailed in the space.

Key Job Responsibilities- Work with the area managers on customer jobs related to the interior office space.
- Interface with Building Management, Customer Service Center personnel and tenants to ensure effective planning, scheduling and follow-up of customer requirements.
- Develop drawings of proposed office furniture for customer requests.
- Assist with the customer to develop a scope of work for the entire job or project and provide an overall budget for the customer.
- Work with standardized procedures.
- Work orders include material planning, scope of work description and drawings to be issued to building trades for implementation.
- Create job packets with a detailed description of the job requirements for the appropriate tradesman to complete the work.
- Coordinate with multiple disciplines and sequence job packets according to the request.
- Review the finished work and create a punch for any remaining work that needs to be done.
- Bachelor’s degree in interior design, architecture or related field.
- 3+ years’ experience in construction or related field.
- Interior Design, Architectural, or Engineering background with a strong understanding of the building design, components and construction process.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to use existing procedures to solve standard problems.
- Express thoughts/ideas through sketch, written, and verbal communication.
- Ability to work as part of a team. Must be able to handle multiple projects of various sizes in a fast-paced environment.
