Senior Safety Specialist (EHS) – Atwater, CA
Target Salary Range: $95,000 to $100,000
OverviewAre you passionate about building a culture where safety is a core value, not just a compliance checkbox? We're seeking an experienced, proactive Senior Safety Specialist to champion our Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs across multiple divisional sites. In this pivotal role, you will be the driving force behind ensuring a safe, compliant, and sustainable work environment. You'll partner with site leadership and diverse teams to minimize risk, promote health, and embed EHS into our daily operations.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Strategize & Implement:
Develop and execute modern, effective EHS policies and procedures that ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.). - Assess & Mitigate:
Conduct regular, hands‑on risk assessments, inspections, and audits to proactively identify hazards and ensure timely corrective actions are implemented. - Educate & Empower:
Design and deliver engaging EHS training programs that resonate with various teams and foster a safety‑first mindset across the organization. - Investigate & Innovate:
Lead incident investigations, analyze root causes of accidents/near misses, and implement robust preventive measures to ensure they don’t happen again. - Collaborate & Influence:
Serve as a key EHS partner, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to integrate safety best practices into all business operations and project planning.
- Experience:
5+ years of dedicated EHS experience, ideally within a dynamic manufacturing or industrial environment. - Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety Management, or a related field. - Expertise:
Deep, practical knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant EHS regulations. - Certification (Bonus):
Professional certification such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), or CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager). - Skills:
Excellent organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills with the ability to influence and inspire change at all levels.
