The City of Attleboro Police Department seeks an Motor Equipment Repairman II who, under the supervision of the garage foreman, performs skilled repair and maintenance of department vehicles and heavy equipment.
Duties include:
Repairs gasoline and diesel-powered engines, hydraulic, fuel, electrical and air operating systems on trucks and heavy construction equipment. Adjusts, repairs or replaces brakes, clutches and transmissions. Performs wheel alignments, engine overhauls, auto body work and related welding and metal working duties. Fabricate using metal shear and bending machine. Performs preventative maintenance tasks such as oil changes and lubrication. Participates in snow and ice program, repairing equipment or plowing or sanding as necessary.
Performs related duties as required.
Requires High School diploma or GED or two or more years’ experience in the maintenance and repair vehicles. Must possess and maintain a CDL B and a hoisting license from the Department of Safety. Through knowledge of the maintenance and repair of gasoline and diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and fuel and electrical systems in trucks and heavy construction equipment. Some knowledge of the maintenance and repair of small engines.
