Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 12-week night shift contract requiring ACLS, BLS, and telemetry experience in a critical care setting.

Job Details

• 14-bed ICU unit in a hospital setting,

• Medical patient population including alcohol withdrawal, acute respiratory distress, COPD, GI bleed, drug overdose, and COVID,

• Occasional post-surgical patients including carotids, VATS, and CEAs (carotid endarterectomies),

• Patients frequently requiring mechanical ventilation, vasopressors, arterial lines, and chest tubes,

• Patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2,

• ICU serves as the code team and rapid response team,

• Intensivists on staff during day shift; NPs available during night shift,

• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:45-07:15,

• Cerner EMR experience is a plus,

Job Requirements

• Active MA RN license required,

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required,

• Minimum experience in critical care/ICU nursing required,

• Telemetry experience required, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias,

• Pulmonary artery line/Swan-Ganz monitoring experience required,

• Experience with continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation administration required,

• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years,

• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained,

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include managing critically ill medical and surgical patients on ventilators, vasopressors, arterial lines, and chest tubes,

• Participates in code response and rapid response team activations,
