Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry Observation Unit position in Massachusetts requiring a current MA RN license and strong telemetry skills.
Responsibilities- Work in a 10-bed telemetry observation unit within an acute care hospital
- Patient population includes adults under observation for varied medical diagnoses, with occasional overflow surgical patients
- Average patient stay ranges from 24 to 48 hours
- No medication drips are administered
- Night shift schedule with 4x12 hour shifts
- Required to work 2-3 weekend shifts within a 6-week period
- On-call required for 5-6 night shifts in 6 weeks (22:00-07:00)
- Floating within scope to med/surg telemetry may be required
- Cerner EMR is used
- Provide skilled nursing care and monitoring for observation patients with diverse medical needs
- Must be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment
- Night shift positions run from 19:00 to 07:00
- Local candidates are accepted
- Scrub color is flexible; jeans are not permitted
- Parking is free with additional details provided during orientation
- All requested time off must be finalized prior to signing the contract
- No new RTO will be added after contract signing
- First-time travelers are considered with at least 2-3 years of experience and relevant EMR experience
- Active MA RN license required at time of application
- Minimum 2 years of recent telemetry RN experience
- Current ACLS and BCLS certifications required
- Experience with Epic or Cerner EMR preferred
- Must have the ability to function autonomously in a telemetry setting
- Return staff must wait one year before being eligible to return as a traveler
