Slitter Operator - 2nd shift

Engineered Materials Solutions in Attleboro,MA is seeking a Slitter Set-up Operator for a 2nd shift 3-person team. Experience preferred/Basic Math skills required.

Position Summary:

The Slitter Set up person is responsible for working with the Lead Operator and the Apprentice as a team to maintain the safety of the area, meet the required production and quality requirements for the slit material.

Responsibilities:

* Review operation schedule and work with the operator planning the day/shift.

* Set-up the off-line head for the next available job on the schedule.

* Switch heads when the job is completed on the on-line head with the off-line head set-up for the next job.

* Assist in the processing of material through slitter (Working with the 3rd hand apprentice when free from setting up the off-line on making tags, strapping coils and planning next job)

* Inspect and release slit material

* Work with slitter operator to adjust slitter to maintain tolerance and customer specification requirements

* Work with team to identify non-conformance material and correct deficiencies

* Read route cards, SOPs and other documents.

* Handle material and package cuts for delivery to next operation

* Use hand-held measuring instruments (Micrometer and Vernier), core cutter, camber bar, and other equipment as needed.

* Other duties as required.

Education and Experience:

* High School or Equivalent

* 1-3 years experience operating related equipment

* Ability to read and write English

* Basic Shop Math skills required

Physical Demands:

* Heavy lifting up to 50 lbs with hoist.

* Standing up to 75% of time
