Responsible for the safe and effective administration of medically prescribed respiratory care utilizing a variety of equipment and techniques.

Provides care that addresses the specific needs of age groups from newborn to elderly, customized to individual impairments or variations such as hearing, sight, language barriers, cultural issues, and potential victims of abuse.

Required Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience:

• Completion of an AMA-approved program for Respiratory Care.
• Knowledge and skills in assessment, treatment, airway management, mechanical ventilation, bronchial hygiene, and oxygen therapy.
• Ability to provide care as outlined in Respiratory Care policies, considering individual patient needs and customizing treatments when appropriate.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience:

• Effective communication with all age groups and ability to provide education.
• Experience addressing the specific needs of patients from newborn to elderly.

Educational Requirements:

• Graduate of an AMA-approved Respiratory Care program.
• AS or BA/BS degree preferred.

License/Certification:

• Current Massachusetts Respiratory License.
• CRT or RRT preferred.
• BLS certification.

Age Specific Criteria: Ability to communicate effectively with all age groups served.

Ability to Meet Job Performance Expectations: Capable of performing essential functions without posing a threat to health and safety, with or without reasonable accommodations.
