Shift Requirements7:15 AM - 4:00 PM, hours may vary, some daily travel, some overnight travel required, some overtime, some nights, weekends and holidays possible.
As a Materials Technician 4Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Review methods and techniques used in construction and building trade fields, includes knowledge of plan, standard specifications, and special provisions of the employing agency.
- Perform project audits as they relate to materials incorporation as active construction is ongoing and previously completed projects.
- Review project submittals for proper sampling and testing frequencies for HMA, PCC, Aggregate, Fabricated items, and approved products, etc. This includes evaluation of compliance with federal requirements.
- Verify mathematical accuracy of all quantities calculated “by hand”.
- Maintain an inventory of active projects and the status of final payment.
- Review project records and documents for timely submittal, accuracy, and completeness during the construction period, including but is not limited to review and approval of subcontractor requests, contractor progress payments, external vouchers, and contract modifications.
- Possess and maintain a minimum of a Class C non-commercial Driver's License.
- Must possess (or be able to obtain) and maintain required certifications for sampling and testing materials and operation of specialized equipment as required by the DOT's Technical Training and Certification Program for Highway Materials and Construction - for this position:
Aggregate Sampler & Aggregate Technician, PCC Level I & II, HMA Level I, and Profilometer. - Prior to starting employment, all persons are required to have a post offer pre-employment physical verifying the physical ability to perform the duties described.
