Locum Jobs Online  is working with Lancesoft Inc to find a qualified Gastroenterology MD in Atlantic City, New Jersey, 08401!

We are seeking an experienced  Physician Gastroenterologist  to serve as  Chief of Gastroenterology  for a growing, academically aligned health system in  Atlantic City, New Jersey . This is a senior leadership opportunity for a visionary physician ready to build, expand, and lead a comprehensive gastroenterology program.

This role blends  clinical excellence, academic development, and strategic leadership , offering the chance to shape GI care delivery across multiple counties.

Key responsibilities include:

Designing, building, and leading a high-impact Gastroenterology division

Expanding advanced GI services, including complex endoscopic procedures

Providing hands-on clinical care for complex inpatient and outpatient cases

Recruiting, mentoring, and leading GI physicians, faculty, fellows, and support staff

Driving collaboration across specialties, particularly oncology and surgical services

Supporting research, education, and academic program development

Ensuring consistent endoscopy block time and strong referral volume

Promoting access to care and reducing health disparities in the community

Schedule highlights:

Full-time, daytime schedule (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

Manageable  1:4 call rotation , supported by hospitalists and APPs

Requirements

Board Certified in  Gastroenterology

Active  New Jersey medical license  or willingness to obtain prior to start

Active  DEA  and  CSR/CDS  (or willingness to obtain)

Current  BLS and ACLS  certifications (or willingness to obtain)

Experienced gastroenterologist only (no new graduates)

Prior leadership experience as Chief, Medical Director, or program builder  preferred

Experience launching or expanding a GI program strongly preferred

Malpractice or licensing history considered with limitations

NPDB Self-Query Report (within 30 days) required

Proof of COVID and Flu vaccination compliance required
