One of our clients is hiring an Armed Security Officer to provide a visible security presence and maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors within assigned healthcare facilities. This role supports hospital security operations through patrol, emergency response, incident documentation, and enforcement of facility policies and applicable laws.
The position requires schedule flexibility and may involve rotation between facilities based on operational needs.
About the RoleThe Armed Security Officer responds to emergency codes, internal and external incidents, and disaster events as required. Responsibilities include conducting preliminary investigations, preparing factual documentation, and supporting clinical and operational teams in maintaining a secure healthcare setting.
This is a uniformed position in accordance with facility dress code standards.
Key Responsibilities Security Operations- Conduct routine patrols of hospital buildings, grounds, and assigned areas
- Serve as a visible deterrent to criminal activity
- Respond to emergency codes and critical incidents
- Support disaster preparedness and response efforts
Enforce facility rules, access control, and parking regulations - Monitor surveillance systems, dispatch systems, and communication equipment
- Prepare clear, factual, and timely incident reports
- Respond promptly to service requests via phone, radio, email, or dispatch
- Identify and report security trends and recommend preventive actions
- Support proper handling of lost and found items and patient valuables
- Assist staff with de-escalation during disruptive or high-risk situations
- Report observed safety hazards during patrols
- Maintain readiness in varying environmental and operational conditions
- Perform other security-related duties as assigned
Physical Requirements This role may involve:
- Extended periods of standing and walking
- Occasional lifting or physical intervention when required for safety
- Exposure to emotionally charged or high-stress situations
- Outdoor patrol in varying weather conditions
- Use of defensive and communication equipment

- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum two (2) years of armed security experience preferred
- Honorable military service may be considered in lieu of experience
- Law enforcement experience preferred
- Healthcare security experience preferred
- Valid Driver’s License required where driving is a job duty
- Verbal De-escalation training within 60 days of hire
- BLS certification within 60 days of hire
- Firearms training, defensive tactics training, and weapon qualification required prior to armed assignment.
